Nick and Samantha Dzembo presented to 600 students at Bashaw Elementary School to kick off the Bobcat Run for Connor! The May character trait at Bashaw is “Responsibility”… during the presentation students learned about their responsibility to respect those around them that are different from them on the outside, but the same as then on the inside. Student also learned about Ataxia Telangiectasia, their fellow student and friend Connor Dzembo and how they can help the A-T community. The Bobcat Run for Connor is a walk/run-a-thon being held May 30th, 2014; fundraising began on May 7th!
Jan. 9th-12th, Nick Dzembo, Wobbly Feet Foundation’s Volunteer Ex. Director, completed 48.6 miles in the Disney Dopey Challenge as part of the A-T Children’s Project’s A-T Cure Team. Nick ran a 5K, 10K, 1/2 marathon & full marathon over 4 consecutive days and, with all members of Team Connor, raised over $3200.00! Alongside Nick, friend of Wobbly Feet, and fellow “rare” parent, Jen Tullio completed the challenge as well raising funds for a cure for her son Grayson who has Duchenne MD. The East County Observer continued their support of both charities with the great write-up below!
